Job Description: Ward’s Berry Farm is looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Event & Entertainment Staff to join our team! Our Event & Entertainment staff play a key role in creating memorable experiences for guests by facilitating private events such as birthday parties, showers, and corporate gatherings, as well as overseeing our public activities, including Pick Your Own (PYO), Mazes, playground activities, and more. The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with guests of all ages, including leading educational farm tours, engaging with children, and ensuring a fun and safe environment. This position requires flexible availability, as additional hours will be needed during peak season (April to October). Prior to our busy season, shifts may be on an “as-needed” basis.
Job Responsibilities:
Private Events:
Setting up and breaking down private event spaces
Managing event flow and directing attendees
Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the event venues
Coordinating catering delivery between kitchen and event sites
Facilitating payment
Safely operating tractor-drawn hayrides with event guests
Providing educational tours to event participants during the hayride and supervising the associated PYO activity
Public Activities:
Assisting with check-in and purchase of containers for “Pick Your Own” customers
Providing customer service and answering customer inquiries
Monitoring and engaging with customers in the PYO fields and mazes, ensuring rules are followed and customers are having a positive experience
Safely operating tractors for public hayrides
Overseeing playground activities, including selling admission, checking for wristbands, and ensuring rules are followed
Other duties as assigned may include:
Stocking in the retail store
Harvesting in the field
Serving as a retail associate, which may include operating a cash register
Qualifications and Requirements:
Must be 18+ years of age
1-2 years of event, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. for event setup and be comfortable standing for extended periods
Friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for customer service
Comfortable engaging with guests of all ages, especially children and families
Public speaking skills and ability to confidently lead group tours and activities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and ability to multitask
Problem-solving skills and adaptability to unexpected situations
Teamwork and ability to work under pressure
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Compensation:
$17.00-$19.50 dependent on experience
